To mark National Boarding Week 2025, our boarding community pulled out all the stops to celebrate in true More House style. As the day wound down, boarders made their way to the field where the amazing MHS catering team served up a feast of BBQ favourites, fresh pizzas, cold drinks, and—because no summer celebration is complete without them—iced lollies.

With full stomachs and high spirits, it was time for action. Years 6–8 kicked off the evening’s entertainment—outdoor laser tag and a slip-and-slide. There were rubber rings, lots of laughter, and grins from ear to ear as they launched themselves down the slope to cool off in the summer heat. A little further down the field, players took careful aim (often at Mr Webb!) as the laser battles commenced.

As the younger boarders headed up to the house to start their bedtime routine, senior boarders took to the field. Year 9s raced head-to-head on the slip-and-slide, and Sixth Formers enjoyed a relaxed round of garden games. The evening ended in dramatic fashion with a laser tag battle royale at dusk, as trees, vehicles, and even Ms Rositano were used as makeshift shields.

It was fantastic to see every boarder getting involved, and we were especially pleased to welcome four MHS day boys who joined the celebration and stayed overnight. It was a brilliant chance for them to experience boarding life, connect with others, and build new friendships.
