More House School

PSHE

At More House School, Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE) supports and enables our children to become healthy, independent and responsible members of society. Our students are encouraged to develop their self-confidence by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community.

PSHE is taught to all students, regardless of their ability. It includes online safety, or e-Safety, for all pupils, a Relationships Education component for our Junior Years pupils, and a Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) component for pupils in Year Seven or older.

Our skilled and enthusiastic teaching staff provides learning opportunities matched to the individual needs of children. The curriculum is delivered predominantly by a pupil’s own form-tutor, thus building the relationship and trust between student and tutor, in a safe and familiar environment. A fundamental aim of the PSHE curriculum at More House School is to provide opportunities to learn about rights and responsibilities, and enable the students to be positive members of a diverse society, understanding and appreciating common diversity and differences in accordance with the recognised British Values.

The PSHE curriculum is a continually developing programme, which aims to keep up to date with the issues with which our pupils are faced in their daily lives. If you have any questions regarding the curriculum, please do not hesitate to contact the school's Main Reception where the staff will be pleased to direct your enquiry.

Please see below for the most recent updates relating to Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).
