The Junior School encompasses boys in Years Four, Five and Six, and, although they are very much a part of the whole school, they have a dedicated building - Gard'ner House, which accommodates their core subject lessons and form-registration times. They also have access to specialist teaching rooms for subjects such as Music, ICT, Art & Design, and Technology.
The boys have an exciting array of lessons which we tailor to our pupils’ needs focussing on strengths as well as difficulties. We write our own schemes of work that are designed to motivate, inspire and challenge our pupils, giving them a sense of purpose and opportunities to succeed.
Every boy in the Junior School takes part in the Junior Band Initiative. This is a fantastic opportunity where each pupil has his own instrument for his class music lessons and it is hoped that this encourages boys to develop ownership over their musical education and progress, as well as their organisational and team work skills.
