LEARNING BEYOND THE LABEL 2026

ADAPTIVE TEACHING CONFERENCE

Details regarding the third annual conference will be made available on our website in the lead-up to the event. Please check back for updates, including dates, information on keynote speakers, seminar themes, and how to book your place.

Why attend our Adaptive Teaching Conferences? Attendees have said…

  • Loved the work on transdiagnostics and executive function. I gained so much from today- thank you.
  • I learned more about personalised learning strategies and creating a better more inclusive learning space. Networking with like-minded professionals.
  • I really embraced the concept of moving away from the boundaries of a diagnosis and adopting a more needs-led model to establishing support.
  • The research and mapping tool was an excellent session from Dr Joni Holmes highlighting transdiagnostic approach. The Executive Function with Eleanor was excellent and again very relevant to current work in school. The Maths session was also very useful with ideas to take back for all pupils.
  • Both research papers were excellent and I learnt that our school broadly has the right approach to supporting SEND. It was great to hear, so clearly articulated, my thoughts and feelings about support in the classroom and to know that it is correct based on current research. For example, someone who presents the same learning needs, will most probably have a different cognitive profile necessitating different support strategies. The class mapping tool will really help us to further break this down.
  • This has been brilliant - I feel completely energised and ready to employ some of the things I have learned.
  • Experimental psychology data was fascinating. The setting was ideal.
  • Fabulous speakers.
  • THANK YOU - extremely informative and very affordable.
  • Thank you so much for such an informative day delivered by such incredibly knowledgeable people.

LEARNING BEYOND THE LABEL 2024 and 2025

In conjunction with Charterhouse School, More House ran the first Adaptive Teaching Conference 'Learning Beyond the Label' in 2024 for professionals supporting 11 -18 year old pupils with SEND in the classroom.

Learning Beyond the Label was created as an informative and practical evidence-based learning experience for educational professionals to hear directly from leading researchers and attend seminars led by teachers with years of experience supporting children and young people with SEND.

Following the successful 2024 conference, More House School and Charterhouse School hosted the second Adaptive Teaching Conference in March 2025.

We were joined by over 100 professionals from schools across the UK to hear current research from experts in the field of neurodiversity, and explore strategies and approaches to supporting SEN in the classroom with school-based practitioners.

Explore the booklets below to learn more about the first and second annual Adaptive Teaching Conferences.

The School currently delivers SEND training nationally for the Independent Schools Association (ISA), including the ISA training for SENDCos, and is also heavily involved in both the design and delivery of the National SEND Conference for the Independent schools’ sector, in association with the Independent Schools Council (ISC).
