Clubs and Activities
Welcome to our After-school Activity page
More House School’s After-school Activities programme continues to provide a breadth of activities that will appeal to all ages and all interests. We hope that the variety of activities on offer will further your son’s academic, social and emotional confidence in addition to that which he receives from the formal curriculum and that which he receives from our more extensive range of ‘free’ extra-curricular provision.
Our programme offers a variety of activies for boys staying after school. These range from outdoor activities like Manhunt and Football to indoor activities like Dungeons and Dragons, and Film Club. There are exciting paid and pre-booked activities that the boys can sign up to, allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. During exam season there is an expansion of the GCSE and BTEC curriculum support activities on offer to those students in Years Ten and above.
A more detailed extra-curricular programme is displayed on the school website for each term. Here is a synopsis of activities that can be expected to be available throughout the year:
Sporting and Outdoor
Scooter and Skateboard club, Boxercise classes in the Fitness Suite, Manhunt and similar outdoor games, Football and Rugby skills.
Boys are welcome to bring into school their own goodies, as well as using those provided by the school, for Lego and Puzzle club, and Warhammer club. Pupils may bring their own Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and other such cards to complement more traditional games at Boardgames club and Consul club. Documentary Film club, Film versus Book club will vary week-to-week depending on the material. Airfix Models club takes place in the Technology department.
Support classes for GCSE and BTEC have been expanded; see the main timetable for full details. Music and Drama clubs operate each afternoon Monday to Thursday inclusive during term-time.
We have a magically successful Magicians club, Baking classes, Squash at Bourne Racquets Club, Tennis club and Cycling at Alice Holt.
Please do take advantage of all the new (and old) opportunities on offer. If you or your son have any suggestions for future provision, I welcome your feedback and ideas. Activities can be (re-)introduced at half-termly intervals. For further information about the extra-curricular programme, please explore the school website or contact me at: email@example.com.
