Life at More House

What Do I Need?

You will need a plain bag that is comfortable for you to carry around school. You will need a pencil case, with handwriting pens, pencils, a pencil eraser, ruler and sharpener. Highlighters are also
useful. You may want to bring a snack and a water bottle. You can bring your own colouring pencils or use the ones in the class. Teachers will always lend you resources if you forget to bring yours, but
you should aim to remember to bring in your own every day. In the Junior School you will be supplied with a diary.

You should wear the correct uniform at all times, unless otherwise advised, and have your P.E. kit in school when required.

Can I bring a phone to school?

During the school day, mobile telephones must be switched off and not be used for any purpose without permission. If you are seen with your mobile phone, including Airpods or other accessories, you will be required to surrender it to a member of staff until the end of day. If your parents need to contact you, they should telephone Main Reception rather than try and call or text you directly and if, for some reason, you need to call home, please ask a member of staff for help.

What do I do if I don’t like lunch?

There is always a wide selection of food at lunchtime, and no one will make you eat something you do not like. However, everybody needs to eat something. If you are worried about lunch times, tell your tutor.

What do I do if I get lost?

Any adult can tell you where you need to go or take you to your next lesson. You will have other boys with you who can help you too. You will soon learn how to find your way to the Main Reception or your tutor’s classroom, and you can go there if you need help.
